Welcome to Wednesday Night Youth Group
Every Wednesday our youth 7th grade through 12th grade gather at GBCV from 6pm-8pm to grow in their love and faith in Christ. Here's what you can expect at youth when you come visit us!
Games
Every Wednesday to start the night of we enjoy a variety of fun games. This is an opportunity for the youth to build comradery, teamwork, and deeper friendships between their peers and the youth staff.
Worship through Music
We spend time worshiping the Lord through song as we prepare our hearts for the message from God's Word about to be taught. Singing together is a powerful way to unite our hearts and proclaim the truths about God and His Word together.
Studying God's Word
God's Word has to be central and seen as sufficient for all of life and godliness. We are excited to get to train up the next generation in God's Word through the faithful teaching done by Pastor Jon. Every five years Pastor Jon teaches through the entire Bible book by book. This provides the youth a robust understanding of God's Redemptive plan from Genesis to Revelation.
Small Groups
It is our desire that we not only faithfully teach the youth at GBCV but also shepherd and disciple them with the desire that we would be conformed into the image of Christ more and more! Every Wednesday night our youth break into discipleship groups where we talk through the Bible lesson just heard, provide accountability, encourage one another, and have life-on-life application within a small group.
One-on-One Discipleship
Our Youth Staff strongly believe in the importance of going and making disciples (Matthew ) which includes mentoring and discipling the next generation of believers within our church. Each youth staff has at least one youth they are intentionally meeting with and pouring into on a regular basis for the purpose of greater Christlikeness.
Quarterly Youth Retreats
Our youth have the opportunity to join us on the three main retreats we do throughout the year. This is an opportunity to dive deeper into God's Word with a concentrated focus, engage with each other more intentionally, and enjoy time away from the craziness of life to soak up time in God's creation.
Fall: Beach Retreat (September)
Winter: Snow Retreat (February)
Summer: Mountain Retreat (June)
